“I was in a lot of pain when I came to IPPMC, I was depressed with a lot of anxiety. I presented for their multidisciplinary program including behavioral health, physical therapy and interventional treatments with Dr. K as well as pool therapy. I really love the pool therapy, it takes away half of my pain. I am sleeping better and I am more energetic. I am now smiling in the morning. I was really happy that they did not just throw a bunch of medications at me. I was afraid of performing this rehabilitation without medication as I had been in the past dependent on these medications because of my pain and anxiety. Ultimately they were looking out for my best interests which may have been harder for them to treat. Overall I am happy and glad I am not taking medications. I am feeling better. When you are on medications you are foggy. I am sleeping better and going on a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters with my father. Dr. K is awesome”

“I’m a 53-year-old lady that has had numerous injuries starting in 1999 of my left tibia and fibula. I also injured my right knee, right shoulder and neck. I have been to multiple pain clinics. They did not even examination me. The physicians at IPPMC have been very thorough and efficient with complete examinations and follow up. For the first time I am happy with my pain management. I highly recommend IPPMC for your pain issues and you will receive a comprehensive treatment plan. Your pain will be improved.”

“I had spine surgery in 2010 after a motorcycle accident which left me with chronic back pain. I tried a number of treatments at a couple different facilities to help with my back pain as well as physical therapy without avail and nothing seemed to work including medication. Medication was a temporary fix. I was referred to IPPMC by my primary care physician. I ultimately underwent a permanent spinal cord stimulator for my chronic pain. I have not been able to walk for a mile in over five years and I can now do that pain free. This is the first time I have been able to sleep throughout the night in five years. My mood is improved because I am not constantly dealing with chronic back pain. IPPMC is awesome!!”

"I have been dealing with chronic pain for 23 years and have seen several pain clinics in three different states including Montana, Idaho and North Dakota. They never really addressed my pain and were more concerned with medications and addiction. Since I have been dealing with Dr. Kowalkowski at IPPMC there has been a bit change. My wife notices I can walk to the store and back, I can do dishes, I get out of my chair. My primary care physician has even noticed the improvement. My mood is improved. I have been able to reduce my medication usage significantly and I am in the process of weaning off all of my muscle relaxants and my pain medications. I am very impressed with the team at IPPMC. They are very courteous, conscientious and don’t like pain either because they care. You are not just a number at IPPMC."

"My neck was broken in 2005 and I was told that I had nerve damage and I had to live with the pain the rest of my life. After Duluth Pain Clinic could not help me, I was told by a doctor that I could not get any pain medications. The doctor told me about IPPMC and told me to keep an open mind and try injections. After 5 years in Duluth, I did not want to but I did. IPPMC is my angel. I have no pain at all any more after just 4 months. They gave me my life back. Dr. K. is the best! I tell everyone how good IPPMC is. I love them so much. Thanks you so much."

" IPPMC was the first place I was seen for my neck pain and headaches. I was in chronic pain. I was not leaving my house. I stopped my social life and cut my hours at work and I am only in my 40s. Since coming to IPPMC I have returned back to work full-time, my social life is back and my mood is great and my family notices the difference, I am not as moody, that's because pain hurts and affects everything. I have been treated with respect. The physicians and staff are very knowledgeable and nice. It is a very clean and nice atmosphere. I would recommend IPPMC to others that are in pain.”

"Previous to coming to IPPMC I had been seen by multiple specialists including neurologists, rheumatology, my primary care physician, Ears, Nose and Throat, nephrology, and urology. I have had a total of 32 surgeries to date. I received multiple diagnoses but no treatment for my pain. My activity level was minimal and it was effecting my life significantly. I was in pain the majority of the time. The first day after my visit I was offered help and it started giving me relief and hope to continue. Due to my medical history including kidney stones I was dealing with depression and anxiety which I also received assistance with at IPPMC. As my pain improved my anxiety and depression has improved. I did not even come for my hands but my hand pain is 90% improved at this time. It is allowing me to pursue my hobbies and interests once again without pain. I have been working on my headaches and neck pain and my neck pain has improved significantly. I am greatful for the help that IPPMC has offered me."

“I had two right sided hernia surgeries three years ago. After the last surgery I had severe pain right in my groin and right leg. The pain radiated down my leg into my hip. I could not walk. I had a miserable winter with this pain. My husband had to do all the household work and I was sitting most of the time to relieve my pain. I saw approximately four doctors for my pain and they did not help. One doctor even thought I had a broken femur. After MRIs and expensive workups I still had the pain. It got to the point where I had difficulty walking. My doctor sent me to IPPMC. On my second visit Dr. Kowalkowski treated my pain with an interventional treatment. Within one week my pain was gone. It was really gone. This was the first time in 30 years that I can walk, do my housework, I’m a happier person definitely. I am very happy with my treatments.”

“I’ve had headaches for five years. I would be down three of four days at a time. My muscles would get so tight it made it difficult to breath. I would visit the emergency room once a month for my migraines and have probably been on 50 different medications over the last five years. I had had it up to here and I found IPPMC. After my evaluation they didn’t mess around. They were able to help me. After my treatments for my neck and headaches including therapies and interventional treatments I was no longer missing work. I’m not as afraid to do things because my headaches are not being triggered, that is the biggest thing. I’m not afraid to perform my regular activities anymore without worried about being down again or have them progressively get worse. I am no longer second guessing myself if I am going to have a headache. The team at IPPMC is very thorough and professional and they listened to me and believed what I was saying.”
